Pvt. Kenneth L. Fryman has been reported killed in action in Italy. The following telegram was received yesterday Feb. 24, 1944 by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. G. C. Fryman, 221 East 12th street: "The secretary of war desires me to express his deep regret that your son, Pvt. Kenneth L. Fryman, was killed in action in defense of his country on 22 January in Italy. Letter follows.'
Kenneth, who was 19 on Jan. 20, was inducted on March 30 of last year and sailed from Fort Dix, New Jersey, last October for North Africa. He had since been sent to Italy and was serving with an infantry division.
One brother, Carl is now serving in the Air Force in England.
Another brother, William, lives in Polk and he had three sisters, Mrs. Martha Wharton, of Lancaster; Audrey, of Mansfield and Mrs. Bernice Keylor of 227 East 11th street. Kenneth was last home on furlough in September and had last written to his parents on Jan. 9.
He belonged to the Free Methodist church in Mansfield.
