Killed In Action On July Fourth 1944


Pfc. Edward W. Morgan, 21, of Ashland was killed in action in France on July 4, 1944
Parents of the youth, Mr. And Mrs. Harry Morgan of Wooster road, received a telegram from the War department this morning announcing the death of their son.
Pfc. Morgan had been overseas since last May; he received his training at Camp Atterbury, Ind., and Fort Breckinridge, KY.
Before entering service he was employed at the Ashland Malleable Co.
Pfc. Morgan was engaged to Miss Florence Wierbiki of Ashland.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters and three brothers, Anna, Rose, Harry, Delbert and Melvin.
He is the 31st Ashland County resident to die while in service.
