Pvt. Shearer Is Killed In Action


Mr. And Mrs. Godfrey Shearer of Spencer received a telegram Friday from the Adjutant General informing them that their son, Pvt. Walter H. Shearer was killed in action in France on June 26, 1944.
Pvt. Shearer had been in the army for 21 months and had been overseas since last February. He is survived by his parents, four brothers and one sister. One brother is in the army. Pvt. Shearer attended schools in Ashland and Jeromesville. His parents moved to Spencer last fall.
